[arvados-dev] Arvados 1.2.0 is out

The Arvados team is happy to announce that Arvados 1.2.0 has been
released. The 1.2.0 release contains 660 commits by 10 authors in 155
feature branches. It spans 5 months and 27 days of development.

Here are a few highlights of what changed in this release.

Improvements

* an R SDK is now available
* Keep: (experimental) storage classes support has been added
* Crunch: (experimental) AWS spot instance support is available
* Crunch: It is now possible to specify a time limit for each
component, after which the component will be killed
* WebDAV: browsing project hierarchies is now supported
* Documentation: significant expansion and improvement, see
https://doc.arvados.org

Fixes

* api: performance improvements when handling large collections
* api: fix database lock contention when running many containers
* arvados-cwl-runner: many performance improvements
* keepstore, crunch-run: memory leak fixes
* workbench: version reporting has been fixed
